You’ve finally done it! After a period of month or perhaps years you’ve gathered information, weighed options and finally decided that a lap band is for you. It feels wonderful to take the first step in changing something negative to positive in your life. That being said, the lap band alone is not going to get you to your goal weight. If you wish to succeed, you will need to take control of regular exercising and making the necessary changes in your food habits. Here are a couple things to think about when you decide to make the trip from flab to fab.
One- The food is the key, even though some would say it’s not about the food.
We don’t get fat from not eating. A lot of the fat is from eating things that you should not be eating. Not so much things we should never eat, but eating excessive amounts of things for which we should limit our consumption. Our first priority even before the lap band surgery should be to sit down and convince ourselves that we ARE going to change our eating habits in order to achieve what we set out to do in the first place. What in tarnation was that about? This will ensure that you lose weight.
Two. EXERCISE IS IMPORTANT FOR EVERYONE, LAP BAND OR NOT.
Lap Band Surgery
Plain and simple, most of us don’t like exercising. Plump people in particular do not enjoy exercise but if you have gained extra ordinary weight then you must do something beyond ordinary to lose it. Begin slowly with an activity you enjoy. Walking is the best start off exercise I know of. It is both easy to use and inexpensive. Walking with good shoes and a positive attitude will provide more benefits than just weight loss. If you are interested in dancing, go ahead and try it. You should dance a little bit everyday to some of your favorite dance music. When you build to deem stronger and more stalwart and you allow, build some resistance production to that. Begin doing a little bit of what you like to do each day. Make it part of your routine, and as soon you do it will be missed if you happen to skip a day.

Third. Remember that attitude is an important component of the solution!
Once you have a diet and exercise plan, the final element to reach your goals is having a good attitude. Our attitude, the way we feel about something is a major player in our long-term success. Positive reinforcement is paramount. Every morning when you get in front of your mirror and start your morning routine, tell yourself that this day you will keep your promise to yourself and do all the things you know you need to do in order to achieve your weight loss goal. It’s important to understand that a lap band cannot be effective unless you take the appropriate attitude. Nobody else, just you and you can do it.
Four. IDENTIFYING SUPPORT AVAILABLE TO YOU
Your support group is important whether you have a lap band or not. Placing positive people in our lives will help us better achieve our goals. Be able to have fun and be around people you enjoy being with it a major plus. The more you move, the more you lose and when friends say, let’s go, then go. Let your friends and family know exactly what you hope to achieve and enlist their support. There will be those who will make an attempt to sabotage you and the moment you realize who are they, you should shy away from them till you think that you can refuse them for their poor eating habits.
Remember, you’re doing all these things for yourself. Not only do you need to strive to transform your eating habits and exercise routines, but you may also need to change your attitudes and friends because you decided to get the lap band to improve your body. For the common good, there is a need that all things work together. Remember your time is valuable, so put in the effort to make your efforts productive. Maybe one day in the future you might be able to help someone else also find success. Enjoy the new body you have got for yourself.
